Granite State Rural Water Association: Small Systems - Wastewater Specialist

GSRWA, a nonprofit statewide membership organization, is dedicated to supporting water and wastewater utilities through onsite technical support, training classes, and legislative representation. GSRWA was incorporated in 2005 and is a member of the National Rural Water Association.

Position: Wastewater Specialist

Funding Source: EPA Grant

Location: New Hampshire. Work from home with travel throughout the state.

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday – Friday; some flexible hours

Compensation: Starting salary range is $61,500 - $67,500, commensurate with experience. Benefits include 7% matching 401K plan, paid time off, and life/disability insurance. Health insurance is not offered.

Job Description: To provide innovative compliance assistance to small wastewater systems through: one-on-one training to operators and stakeholders, in-the-field technical assistance, spearheading large asset management projects, connecting systems to funding opportunities and guiding them through the application process.

This position will support GSRWA’s mission: “To provide its water and wastewater members with professional technical assistance, training, legislative representation, and liaison with agencies through its state and national programs”

Qualifications: A minimum of some continuing education beyond high school. The ideal candidate has earned a bachelor’s degree in a field related to environmental science. Beneficial skills and/or experience in: wastewater treatment and collection, applying for grants, and small utility management.
