    Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater Northeast, laboratory in Derry, NH is currently hiring for the position of Certified Water Operator. The position will complete routine drinking water system equipment checks and perform drinking water sample collection at small public water systems throughout the state of NH. Additional duties would include, regular maintenance and monitoring of water system components, and communication with both clients and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) and helping clients to maintain compliances with NHDES requirements for a public drinking water system.

    Position is based out of Derry, NH with service locations throughout New Hampshire

    This position is full time Monday-Friday  8:00am- 4:00pm with OT as needed.  Compensation is $21-24/hour plus benefits offered after 30 days.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collect drinking water samples for small public water systems and residential clients filling out the appropriate chain of custody paperwork.

    • Review NHDES master sampling schedules to ensure all required testing is completed on time.

    • Plan driving routes to efficiently service multiple clients and locations each day.

    • Transport samples back to the primary laboratory and base of operations in Derry NH.

    • Complete routine data collection and equipment checks for small public water system clients.

    • Safe driving to and from job sites.

    Qualifications

    Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ): To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. As a Utility Support Technician you will assist and support our staff in multiple tasks involved in running and maintaining our water systems and infrastructure.  

    Work includes hands-on operating, maintenance, and custodial functions of the water and wastewater systems as well as operation of heavy equipment, tools, and technology used in maintenance, repair, and construction of water utility infrastructure. This position requires an individual with strong troubleshooting, data collection and management, record keeping, communication, electronic device skills, organization, and attention to detail.

    SUMMARY: Shall be thoroughly knowledgeable in standard practices and techniques of automotive, truck and equipment repair, the principles of operation of gasoline and diesel engines, and other systems found in vehicles, heavy trucks, and construction equipment. Shall have the ability to read and understand repair manuals and understand and follow complex oral and written instruction. Must have the ability to adapt available repair tools and parts to a specific repair problem and be skilled in the use and care of hand and machine tools employed in engine repair and adjustment.     TYPICAL DUTIES: Performs routine maintenance and repair work on light-duty and heavy-duty trucks, diesel and gasoline engines, tractors, automobiles and other Town equipment; Diagnoses, repairs or replaces parts in drivetrain, fuel, electrical, exhaust, cooling, or other systems as necessary; Inspects, adjusts, repairs, and overhauls brakes, ignition systems, differentials, and axle assemblies; Tunes engines using standardized testing equipment; Responds to emergency road calls for disabled Town equipment; Maintains proficiency in the use of torches, stick welders, mig welders and plasma cutter for fabrication; Must be able to perform lift operations for vehicles, trucks and equipment; Performs annual State Inspections of municipal vehicles; Operates dump trucks, backhoes, loaders, wheeled excavator and other moderately complex equipment in connection with repairs and transportation; Performs plowing and snow removal activities during winter operations; Overtime is required for this position; Performs other duties as assigned.
